The Kalisher Scholarship Trust is a registered charity which relies on donations to continue its work.
Our work is made possible by the generosity of those who donate through the CBA or their sponsoring Chambers, by our commercial sponsors, and by the voluntary efforts of a stellar cast of writers, actors, directors and others who support us in annual fundraising productions.
These include stars such as Martin Shaw, Simon Russell Beale, Ray Fearon, Felicity Kendal, Patricia Hodge, Jenny Seagrove, Patrick Malahide, Timothy West, Prunella Scales, Jeremy Irons, Sinead Cusack, Maggie Steed, Derek Jacobi, Rupert Penry-Jones, Maxine Peake, Matthew Macfadyen, Toby Jones, Roger Lloyd Pack, Phil Davis, Kevin McKidd,Toby Stephens, Mark Farelly, and Peter Moffat.
Leading the Kalisher Players is Martin Shaw. One of our trustees, he is also a bencher of Gray’s Inn. One of England’s most popular actors for more than two decades, Martin is noted for his versatility. He has starred in over 100 TV roles, his long career beginning in 1967 with Love On The Dole.
The Professionals was an international hit and more recently Martin has starred in The Scarlet Pimpernel, A&E, Judge John Deed, George Gently, and Apparitions. His distinguished theatrical career has included a string of West End successes, with the first revival of Look Back in Anger, A Man for All Seasons, and An Ideal Husband (also on Broadway) which won him a Tony nomination and a Drama Desk award for Best Actor. His most recent West End appearance was in the critically acclaimed The Country Girl at the Apollo Theatre.
