‘The Vocation of Justice’

Michael Gove was the second non-lawyer to serve as Lord Chancellor. He lasted at the Ministry of Justice for only a year, losing his job immediately after the Brexit referendum. However, many may be interested to read what he had to say in this Longford Lecture, under the heading ‘the vocation of justice’. For anyone interested in maintaining a strong and independent criminal Bar for all the right reasons, this lecture demonstrates that it is possible to get the message across to those in Parliament who have never been to court.
