University students

The Kalisher Trust offers education outreach opportunities for university students studying law at Russell Group universities and those who aspire to a career in the criminal law.

University students are warmly invited to take part in mini internships, shadowing barristers. Travel, accommodation and food costs are not covered by the Trust and ‘interns’ are expected to take full responsibility for getting themselves to and from Chambers.

The opportunities provided by the Kalisher Trust allow university students to see some of the width and breadth of diversity and inclusion in the criminal Bar, giving wider insights into the world of the barrister and judge. Whilst the Trust is committed to sustaining a meritocratic criminal Bar, there are considerable advantages for students and university criminal law department professors in having access to legal contacts and events provided by eminent members of the Kalisher Trust. Individual students and university faculties are welcome to explore further opportunities by contacting the Kalisher Trust directly. For contact details please click here.

Post graduate courses

We also sponsor Masters courses (LLMs) at several prestigious universities, to augment the CVs of those who wish to pursue a career at the Criminal Bar and to put them in a better position to secure a pupillage:
