Kalisher: Queen Mary (University of London) Criminal Justice LLM Scholarship, 2020/21: competition open

We are pleased to announce that the competition for a scholarship for the Criminal Justice LLM at Queen Mary, University of London is now open. The scholarship provides £4,000 of living expenses.  Please see the QMUL web page here for more details, and for the online submission form.  As well as meeting the high academic standards of the course, candidates for the bursary must meet the Kalisher Trust’s objectives of furthering access to the Criminal Bar for students who demonstrate exceptional promise but modest means.

The deadline for submission of this scholarship application is 5 June 2020 by 23:59 hrs GMT – students must have an offer of study (either conditional or unconditional) for an eligible programme listed on the QMUL web page here before applying for funding. You must apply for the Criminal Justice LLM in London before applying for the Kalisher Trust scholarship – your application ID number is a requirement.

You must have applied for the Criminal Justice LLM programme by 6 April 2020 to then be eligible to apply for the scholarship.

You will be required to apply for the scholarship via the QMUL online application link. You must submit the following documents with your online application:

  1. A copy of your CV.
  2. 1000 word (maximum) statement in response to the following;
    ‘Please explain the reasons why you are interested in Criminal Justice Law, what you will bring to the programme and why you feel you should be awarded a scholarship; focusing on your academic and professional achievements (if relevant) and financial need.’
  3. A full transcript of your grades: Undergraduate/Bachelors level/first degree level and Postgraduate/Masters (if applicable).
  4. 1 x reference letter (this can be a copy of the reference submitted as part of your LLM application or, if not available to you, you must obtain a reference specifically for this scholarship application). Please do not submit more than one reference letter.
