CCRC

The CCRC is delighted to be able to support the work of the Kalisher Trust and contribute to a more diverse Bar by offering an annual “Kalisher Internship Award”.   The award provides a valuable insight into the criminal justice system which we believe provides a unique opportunity for the successful intern to develop their career.  The interns bring with them a fresh perspective and new ideas or ways of working which add real value to the CCRC’s work.  There is no greater satisfaction than when an intern obtains pupillage and we feel an immense sense of pride to have been able to assist them to reach their potential.

Amanda Pearce, Interim Director of Casework Operations, CCRC

The Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) is based in Birmingham and is an independent organisation set up to investigate suspected miscarriages of justice from magistrates’ courts, the Crown Court, the Court Martial or Service Civilian Court. The principal role of the CCRC is to investigate cases where people believe they have been wrongly convicted of a criminal offence or wrongly sentenced, and to refer such cases to the Court of Appeal.

The Kalisher Intern assists with the work of the Commission from the Commission’s offices in Birmingham.

Further details regarding future internships will be provided in due course via our website and Twitter handle.
