Call for applications: Kalisher Early Careers Group

About the Trust

The Kalisher Trust is a legal charity which helps, encourages and inspires young people to achieve their potential through the development of positive advocacy skills; and supports those who aspire to become criminal barristers.  We run a wide-ranging programme, which includes a dedicated education arm to inform those currently at secondary school about a career in the Law; we also provide internships for those closer to becoming a criminal barrister, and a range of practical support from advocacy training through to regular virtual workshops on all aspects of life at the Bar.

We help young people of exceptional talent who are drawn from under-represented groups.  Typically, those we support have experienced significant poverty, are the first in their family to attend university, and are from an under-represented background. Since our inception in 1996 we have helped hundreds of young people, from those taking GCSEs to young barristers, as they work toward success in this most demanding profession.

We can only run our extensive programme through the hard work and time offered by our network of volunteers, who give their time and expertise willingly and for free.
