Kalisher’s Sentencing Academy Intern selected for 2022-2023
Congratulations to Georgia-Mae Chung who has been selected as the Kalisher Trust’s Intern with the Sentencing Academy for the upcoming year. We thank all candidates for their high-quality applications. The Sentencing Academy is a research body dedicated to developing expert and public understanding of sentencing within the criminal justice system in England and Wales. Their work is essential in improving sentencing practices and increasing public awareness of this important area of criminal law.
We asked Georgia-Mae to reflect on her achievement:
I am thrilled to have been awarded the Kalisher/Sentencing Academy internship for this year. Through having worked as a Trainee Legal Advisor in magistrates’ courts since December, I have developed a deep interest in the law and practical effects of sentencing. I am really excited to have the opportunity to further my knowledge through working with such great and accommodating organisations. Moreover, I am grateful for the benefit that the experience and mentoring will have on pupillage applications and a future career at the Bar.
