2018/2019 Kalisher: University of Birmingham Masters in Law Scholar Graduates

Polly Green, the 2018/19 Kalisher: University of Birmingham Masters in Law Scholar has graduated. The Trust congratulates Polly, and wishes her the very best of luck as she pursues a career in criminal Law.

Polly writes:

‘I shall be eternally grateful to the Kalisher Trust for awarding me the Kalisher Trust LLM scholarship to complete a master’s degree in law (specialising in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice) at the University of Birmingham.  Without this generous scholarship I would not have been able to pursue postgraduate study, let alone at such an esteemed institution. Nor would I have been able to specialise in criminal law. The skills I have gained through this experience are invaluable and will assist me in pursuing a career in the criminal law.

My connection with the Kalisher Trust has provided me with a number of networking opportunities;  not only have the Trust hosted events at the University of Birmingham (most recently a conference on the future of women in the law) but I am ‘linked’ with two local members of the Bar. This will help me with work experience and advice on applications. Valuable opportunities such as this would simply not have been available to me had I not been awarded the Kalisher Trust LLM scholarship. I would strongly encourage anyone considering applying for a Kalisher Trust scholarship or internship to do so. The rewards are invaluable on both a personal and professional level and I do not feel it an exaggeration to state that being awarded the Kalisher Trust LLM scholarship has been a life-changing opportunity for me’.
